Networking Excursions
 

Attendees took networking to a new level by sharing unique cultural experiences and one-of-a-kind fun activities in and around Barcelona on the last day of the DOMAINfest Europe conference.

During online registration, attendees were able to select one morning and one afternoon excursion.

Morning Excursions 9:30-12:30 (select 1 during online registration)
  • Backstage at FC Barcelona - Sponsored by Verisign
    A visit to Barcelona would not be complete without a visit to the home of FC Barcelona. Attendees will get a behind the scenes guided tour of Camp Nou, the largest football stadium in Europe. They will see the press room, the player's dugout beside the pitch and have a chance to visit the FC Barcelona museum which contains all of the club's trophies.

  • Walking Tour (Gaudi, Old Town and Las Ramblas) - Sponsored by Neustar
    This first part of this guided, educational walking tour focuses on the world famous Catalan Modernist Architect Antoni Gaudi. The tour will take attendees to the renowned Gaudi works such as Casa Batllo, La Pedrera, Park Gruell and the Segrada Familia.

    In the second part of this walking tour, a friendly, informative tour guide will take attendees on a walk through the historic Old Town and Las Ramblas districts. La Rambla is a famous tree lined street for shopping, eating and people watching in central Barcelona. On this tour attendees will visit the ancient street of Carrer Petritxol, the Gothic church of Santa Maria del Pi, the Catalan Parliament House, the Cathedral, the Royal Palace and the Barcelona Museum.

  • Tapas Cooking Class
    Attendees will have the rare opportunity to learn how to cook tapas, which are authentic Spanish appetizers. They will cover a variety of methods of preparing hot and cold tapas and various traditional techniques. Best of all, attendees will get to eat their creations along with delightful Spanish wines.

  • Wine Tasting in Penedes
    Since the 19th century, the Penedes region has been famous for producing sparkling Cavas (like Codorniu and Freixenet). The region houses beautiful historic cellars of well known as well as small one-of-a-kind boutique wineries, nearly all family owned. After a 45 minute bus ride, attendees will enjoy an informative guided tour the region and then end their day with a wine tasting.
Afternoon Excursions 14:00-17:00 (select 1 during online registration)
  • Walking Tour (Middle Ages, Old Town & Las Ramblas)
    In the first part of this walking tour, attendees will spend the afternoon enjoying a guided walk through Barcelona's fascinating Gothic Quarter. It's a great way to get familiarized with the area's narrow medieval streets, lively bars, tapas restaurants and trendy boutiques.

    In the second part of this walking tour, a friendly, informative tour guide will take attendees on a walk through the historic Old Town and Las Ramblas districts.   • Montserrat Tour
    After a very scenic 75 minute bus ride into the nearby mountain region, attendees will have a rare opportunity to visit Montserrat, the spiritual center of Catalonia. The Benedictine monastery is perched on a rocky mountain range that offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Attendees will tour the Basilica, the Chapel of the Virgin 'Moreneta' and the Museum.

  • Savory Stroll Scavenger Hunt
    Attendees will be split into groups and will be assigned different culinary destinations where they will have to perform various challenges during this fun competition. At the end of the game they will have visited the best markets, chocolatiers, bakeries and sweet shops Barcelona has to offer.

  • Tapas Bar Crawl
    Attendees will enjoy a combination of gourmet food and Catalan culture on an afternoon guided walking tour of Barcelona's famous tapas bars. They will learn how to order tapas and discover some of the best bars and cafe's Barcelona has to offer.
