Once again, DOMAINfest Global delivered on the #1 objective for attendees: Networking!
- 93% of survey respondents said DFG 2010 was valuable or extremely valuable for meeting the “right” people.
To achieve these impressive results, DOMAINfest Global 2010 specifically planned the conference location and agenda to provide a wide range of networking opportunities and activities. Here is a brief list of examples...
- Fairmont Hotel. The entire hotel was reserved for the conference. As a result, attendees felt more at ease striking up conversations with people that they bumped into in the elevators, hallways and lounges. The Fairmont also offered numerous comfortable, quiet indoor and outdoor areas for attendees to sit down and have good conversations.
- Lunches under the 150 year old fig tree. Not only did lunches outside under the Fairmont’s famous fig tree provide a chance for attendees to enjoy the beautiful California weather, but the glorious shade and ambiance set by the giant fig tree encouraged many attendees to linger and dive deeper into conversation.
- Agenda. Based on input received throughout the year, the agenda definitely included highly relevant, important topics. DOMAINfest also focused heavily on obtaining panelists who offered fresh, new, insightful perspectives on those topics. The pointed questions asked of the panelists in the fireside chat format offered attendees a chance to get critical questions answered. The topics and questions were chosen to spur ongoing discussions and debates throughout the conference.
- Structured networking sessions. Experts in carefully selected topics were brought in on Wednesday and Thursday mornings to meet 1-on-1 with attendees in an informal, free-flowing networking session. Attendees enjoyed getting important questions answered by experts, as well as meeting fellow attendees who shared similar interests in the designated topics. See the list of experts and panelists.
- Exhibit Hall. A total of 27 sponsors and exhibitors offering a wide range of products and services had a presence at DOMAINfest Global 2010. Nearly all of them had booths in our exhibit hall where attendees could ask questions, see demos, and figure out which companies could help them become more successful. See list of sponsors and exhibitors.
- Opening night reception/dinner party, sponsored by .CO. Conveniently located at the Fairmont, this dinner party was a great way for attendees to rekindle old friendships, meet new people, and make plans to meet over a meal or during a break later in the conference.
- Wednesday night dinner party at the Getty Center, sponsored by CPX Interactive. The entire Getty Center museum was reserved for our event. It was an unbeatable atmosphere that really put attendees in the mood to strike up a conversation, whether it was about business while sharing a cocktail, or what an artist trying to convey while sharing a gaze at a priceless painting or sculpture.
- Thursday night’s farewell party and charity fundraiser at the Playboy Mansion, sponsored by DomainSponsor. It goes without saying that this party offered attendees a rare chance to get together and share some fun at an iconic American landmark; the Playboy Mansion. And it was all for a good cause, too. Enough funds were raised for Jenny McCarthy’s autism foundation to get 6 families with an autistic child started on much needed therapy.
